30 PV Technicians Trained in Lake Zone Regions

In its bid to strengthen technical knowledge of PV for various target groups, the Project this year organized several training workshops targeting PV technicians.

Two six-day workshops were organized from 20th to 25th March and from 18th to 23rd September targeting these technicians to train them on PV systems design, sizing, component selection, installation, maintenance and trouble shooting.

The chance was also given to technicians from the neighboring three regions of Kagera, Shinyanga and Mara to apply for these workshops.

A total of 30 technicians were trained from Kagera (2), Mara (5), Shinyanga (4) , Ukerewe (2), Sengerema (2) and 15 from Mwanza City. They were selected based on their qualifications and getting hold of technician’s certificate. The total number of trained technicians has now reached 120 since inception of the project.
