Transformation of the Rural PV market is a five year project executed by the ministry of energy and mineral (MEM) under the support of GEF/UNDP. The project is implemented since 2004 in Mwanza region as the pilot region and experience learnt from the project is disseminated in other regions.

The goal of the project is replace CO2 emitted through use of fossil fuels mainly kerosene with PV systems by sustainable commercial market of the technology.
